No Cry Sleep Solution my A**

SO, after reading every book from "What to Expect the First Year" to "The Baby Whisperer" I finally decided to go with the "The No Cry Sleep Solution." Yeah - Right. I should have just left good enough alone.

Zoey isnt a bad sleeper. Some nights its a struggle to get her to go down, but most nights its a twenty to thirty minute job. The problem is she likes the nightlife. All my friends babies go down at seven and eight ... not my princess. She likes to party till Midnight!?! - and sleep in till nine or so. She is a teenager trapped in a six month olds body. We tried everything. Keeping her up. Putting her down fifteen minutes early each night. Warm baths - lavendar bedtime lotion. Singing. Rocking. Everything short of a labotomy.... and Nothing.

We found that we were trying EVERYTHING and in the end she was still going to sleep at eleven or twelve. Thats where the solution comes in. I majored in Psych. and took a zillion child development classes and I just couldn't come up with a solution on my own. So, I read through the books and found the "No CRY Sleep Solution". They made it sound so E.A.S.Y.

Eat - Activity - Sleep - Yourself ( wow - is even includes time for me.) I am supposed to put heron this schedule every 4 hours. Ok - i can do this. I didn't mind her old schedule , but this was going to get her sleeping earlier - with no crying. WOW- i am game :)

So, i woke up yesterday morning bright and early ..... headed to the nursery and sprung my princess from her crib. "Good morning sunshine- Wake up" .... this should have been the dead give away ... I was waking my perfectly sleeping baby.

All day we followed the schedule, and all day it went according to planned. Until bedtime. She cried forever, and didnt want to go to sleep. She was irritable- but finally I had her sleeping. I was amazed that after an hour long struggle she was asleep. Wow- this E.A.S.Y. thing was pretty easy.

NOT! My little one woke every hour. I think she was teething because nothing would work. I thought about letting her C.I.O. (The mommy world has all sorts of abbreviations) Cry-It-Out! , but we tried that once before and it just didn't work. Mommys heart breaks after about 5 minutes of hearing her little Zoey wail. So instead, I stayed up all night.

they should rename it the NO SLEEP CRY SOLUTION - because thats what it was for us.

So, I have decided that if Zoey is sleeping through the night (most nights) that I am not going to worry about it. If she wants to go to bed at 11 or 12 so be it. We have lots of time to put her to bed at 7 or 8 when she gets a little bigger. :)

Just Another CLOUDY Tuesday

Spring needs to be sprung. We have had enough clouds, we have had enough cold, we have had more then enough ice, and we even have had enough snow. We are looking forward to welcoming Spring with a warm embrace.

I used to not mind the winter months, but they are just not that child friendly. You bundle up the baby to take her from the house to the car ( whats that roughly 10 feet), and then you place her in the car only to have to shed a few blankets because she will overheat in the car. Ok! you are then ready to roll. Mommy then drives say 5 minutes to get to her destination, and then pulls out all the gear from the trunk. Stroller - CHECK , Diaper Bag - CHECK, Wallet- CHECK .... all while freezing her toosh off. Now its time to go get the baby out of the car. First though she needs to be bundled back up for that 60 second walk through the parking lot..... Ok - we are finally ready to make the mad dash to the store - lol - and Mommy is cold and tired. Once in the store the routine needs to be done all over - but BACKWARDS. Nice !!!! A quick twenty minute trip to the store turns into an 2 hr process - oh Spring ,.... Where are you?
The countsown in the Wong household has officially begun - T-23 DAYS and counting. Hopefully the calenday day will really be the official start of SPRING.

The weekend has come to an end ....

Its Sunday night and the weekend is over- Why do they always fly so fast?!? It seems like if you blink the weekend might just pass you by.

So, Anthony and I finally got up the courage to leave the house without baby Zoey. G-Ma came over to cuddle and spoil the princess and we got inside the RAV-4 and sailed into the night.
(OK - so it was 4:30 ..... that way we could be sure to be home to put the princess to bed...mommy needs little steps)

Anthony and I tried the fondue place (SIMPLY FONDUE) after Kristen and her mom said it was yummy yummy, and it was soooo yummy yummy. We look forward to going again. Afterwards we did a little shopping - for Zoey of course. We had to stock up on goodies for the first Easter basket. We can't wait for Zoey's first Easter.

Today we did the usual. Church in the morning, and Aunt Debs for family dinner at night. Zoey loves church. I swear she fights to stay awake every Sunday so she doesn't miss out on anything. I hope as she gets older she continues to love church... and be so quiet :)

Yesterdays trip to NYC

So, we went to NYC for the first time with Zoey yesterday. She had an appointment at a modeling agency who was interested in representing her. We figured why not check it out ....and ventured into the big city.

Zoey had so much fun from the very start. She loved all the whistles and bells of the train, and it wasn't before long that the vibrations put her to sleep. When she awoke we were already in Penn Station. ***Mini Rant here - NYC is the most unfriendly baby place ever. The train station had nowhere to change a baby - anywhere**** So, we bundled up and went across the street to MACYS which had wonderful children's changing stations, a reasturant, and easily accessible elevators.

After we got Zoey cleaned up, fed Zoey, and got ourselves a drink in the Cafe it was time to head on over to her appointment at Genration MM. We took a taxi because it was just too cold to walk the 17 blocks. Hailing a cab with a baby in tow isn't as easy as it sounds..... lol.... but we managed nicely....and got there quickly :)

So, we signed in and the doorman let us up. We were amazed at how friendly they were, and how happy Zoey was sitting on the agents lap. The agent explained that they only take on a small number of kids, and that they really thought Zoey would get lots of work with their clients. They commented on all her facial features - and seemed really impressed with her chin - lol. I was amazed at all the nice wonderful things that they had to say because I think she is beautiful because she is my baby, simple and easy.

The agency said that the big clients they have are Target, Babies R Us, Gap, K-Mart, Parenting, American Baby, and quite a few others that I just can't remember.

The agency only gets "paid" if Zoey gets work. No upfront money or fees. In NY all agencies get 20% of the 50-180 an hour that the model makes. So, agents look for the cutest babies who will get work.

Since its all regulated, when they do shoots babies only shoot for an hour or two - never more, and its good money in Zoey's bank account, for college or a car, we are going to give it a whirl and see how she likes it. Wish us luck on this new adventure :)

After the meeting we had dinner in the city, and took the train home. Zoey never cried the entire day. She loved the hustle and bustle - lol. She just looked around in amazement all day. Unfortunately, when she arrived home she was over-tired from fighting naps all day to watch in amazement at the city life.

Today Zoey is 6 months old

Where does the time go. Can you believe today Zoey is 6 months old. It seems like just yesterday she was a wee little thing growing and getting strong in the NICU. Now, she is 6 months old and becoming quite the big girl. She might not have baked all the way, but she really has caught up.

Zoey is now 14 lbs, which to me is so amazing, because at her smallest she was a petite little 3 lbs 8 oz. She has started eating solids off of a spoon - but more ends up on her face and shirt then in her tummy. Sometimes Mommy and Daddy wonder if any yummy cereal and prunes reached the final destination of her belly.

We are also happy to report that Zoey is now tall enough to play in her exersaucer. OK - so we all know that the gene pool was a little short on the height area - lol They need to make an exersaucer for petite babies - theres an invention idea :)

On the mommy and daddy front - we just love watching our princess grow. It simply amazes us to watch her discover the world.
